Because People Matter - Work with Us

Turning Point Scotland are looking to appoint a Practice Improvement (PI) Manager to help us deliver consistent, high-quality provision across all of our Aberdeen city-based housing support services.

As the PI Manager you will have a challenging, varied and rewarding role, one focused on developing our quality assurance, performance and recording systems and leading to improved practice, attaining standards and enhancing the quality of life for the people we support.

You will be part of a creative, supportive management team, working closely with the Service Manager for Housing Support Services and staff across multiple services to drive a culture of best practice. You will implement and monitor our quality and audit control procedures and use your leadership skills to develop, lead and support elements of continuous improvement.

Aberdeen Housing Support Services

At Housing First, we strongly believe in delivering Housing First with high fidelity to its 7 core principles. Turning Point Scotland has established the Housing First Academy which is focused on developing the Communities of Practice Training and Housing First Europe Hubs.

At Aberdeen Outreach Housing Support, we work across localities to enable people to maintain independent tenancy sustainment, reconnect with their local communities and assist them to build their resilience to prevent repeat homelessness. We respond to the individual needs of those who are homeless or at the risk of becoming homeless, including those who are rough sleeping, or are in temporary or permanent accommodation. The service supports people who may have multiple needs which may be related to mental health, alcohol and other drug use, offending, finance and employment.

At Aberdeen Gateway Support, we provide intensive support for 12 weeks across 2 core accommodation blocks, with transitional support for up to two years of within the local communities. Through a multi-agency approach, the service delivers health-led interventions, supports and drives rapid rehousing to prevent repeat homelessness.

We are a large, stable national provider and a charity. As we are not for profit there is ongoing investment into our staff training and development, a good GPP pension scheme, and annual leave and sick pay that significantly exceeds the statutory minimum.

We also have a brilliant employee assistance programme (independent advice, information and support online, by phone and in person), a group reward scheme to help your money go further and access to a contributory ‘hospital’ fund. We have a relationship with a credit union and promote saving directly from salary.

We aim to provide a working environment where opinions and ideas are valued and arrangements are in place to ensure that there is a high level of staff representation and that people are encouraged to make their views heard and to participate at service and organisational levels.

As a leading national social care provider our breakthrough and forward-thinking models of practice and service are well recognised. Examples of this recently have been: Housing First, Psychologically informed environments (PIE), Citizenship and both Scottish and International research and evaluation of a range of projects. We work across a wide range of types of services and the organisation provides pathways for development: a career development workshop; appraisal; learning and training options; internal forums and project groups; and opportunities for internal secondment, temporary acting up or sideways roles and career progression.

The salary scale for the post will be:

  • £34,270
  • £35,153
  • £36,150
  • £37,202
  • £38,381

The annual leave entitlement will be 30 days per year, plus 8 public holidays and 2 local holidays.
