We have an exciting opportunity in our Edinburgh Visiting Housing Support Service for an experienced Lead Practitioner.  We offer either a full time role has the flexibility to work mainly Monday to Friday 9 to 5 there may be occasions where our service users require support out with these hours.

About Us

Turning Point Scotland is the biggest provider of services to people experiencing or at risk of Homelessness across Scotland, delivering support to around 2000 individuals on any given day, 4500 per year.

We believe that in many cases, Homelessness is entirely preventable.  Where Homelessness is not or cannot be, prevented the experience should be brief and non-recurring.

We provide support to people who are;

  • Experiencing Homelessness
  • At risk of Homelessness; and / or
  • Need some support to protect their home

Our Edinburgh Visiting Housing Support Service provides Housing Support to people who are at risk of becoming homeless, who are homeless or who have recently experienced homelessness to move to or keep settled accommodation and gain independent living skills. Your role as our Lead Practitioner will consist of 2 elements, Visiting Housing Support and Preventative Support. 

About You

As our Lead Practitioner the support you provide will always be person centred, by involving people who know the person well, this includes family and friends, other health and Social Work professionals, Advocacy services and your fellow team members.

Whilst we very much welcome experienced practitioners, no previous working experience is needed; full training will be provided to you. We believe having the right values of respect, compassion, inclusion and integrity is all you need to join our team.  

About the Role – Lead Practitioner

The support you provide will be varied from bidding on a house through ed index, assisting with budgeting, finances, benefits, supporting people to keeping on top of day to day household activities.    You will be provided with all of the training, support and equipment required to successfully fulfil your role.
