Our expectation of a peer worker is that it is you yourself who has walked the pathway into recovery. Working in our one of a kind residential service you will use your own personal lived experience of recovery to positively share your personal experiences with others in order to support service users in their journey of recovery.

The 218 Service Provides a 12-bed residential stay for woman involved within the justice system and can be seen as an alternative to custody. We provide women with an opportunity to address underlying reasons for their offending.

The support we provide is always person centred, we do this by involving people who know the person well, this includes family and friends, other health and Social Work professionals, Advocacy services and our own staff members.

As a Peer Support Practitioner, you will work with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing them with practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives e.g. keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing. 

No previous working experience is needed; full training will be provided to you. You will be fully supported in your personal and professional development through regular 1:1 support and development meetings.
